Kate has been begging to have Kara in her room with her so we finally made the move. Going on two weeks now, we're not sure how successful the transition is. We try to get them into bed by 8 or 8:30. For about an hour, all we hear is Kara giggling and Kate telling on her. The hour sounds a little something like this, "Kara's jumping on her bed! Kara's ripping a book! Kara took my baby! Kara has a boggie! Kara drank my water! Kara's hiding in the closet! Kara took the 'night night' light out! Kara's in my bed!," etc. By about 9:30 Kate gets tired enough, puts a pillow over her head, and falls asleep. About the time that we're ready to go to bed, we walk by the door and Kara is just standing on her bed with a huge smile on her face. She has yet to go to bed before 10:15. The one time they did manage to get to sleep a little earlier was when they both ended up in Kara's toddler bed (Kate's is apparently too big) which I knew would be a disaster once elbows started to be thrown in the middle of the night. Oh well, at least they were sleeping right?

Gotta love it. Hopefully this means they're so tired the next day that they take really long naps.
Yeah, I'm not looking forward to that transition at our house. I think I'll put it off as long as I possibly can. Although, both mine will probably be the ones jumping on the bed, giggling, and hiding in the closet, etc.
I love that picture of them in the bed together! It reminds me of sharing a room with my sisters growing up -at one point even 4 girls in one room! My poor parents probably didn't get much sleep with all the giggling! Good luck getting some shut-eye!
I told you it would take one week with no sleep, but I guess Kara just doesn't need sleep. GOOD LUCK!! Hope they learn to sleep before the new one comes along...
That is a hard transition, but it will eventually get better. Again, this sounds like dejavue (I have no idea how to spell that) of my girls. Hayden used to get out of bed and turn the light on about 20 times every night until we started putting her in timeout in the garage! (I know, it may sound abusive, but it was not in the summer - and it worked:) Good luck!
Happy Valentine’s Day!!
